# Slots — Quick Reference

## Check the complete purchase

Read denomination, credits, total stake, prize rules, optional feature costs and any published RTP conditions. A hypothetical 20 lines × 5 credits × $0.01 costs $1. Not every game uses that formula. A paytable can show awards without revealing their probabilities.

## Keep the measures separate

- An assumed 95% theoretical RTP corresponds to 5.00% expected loss per stake under that model. It is not a session guarantee or the chance of a prize.
- A $1 round returning $0.40 has a net loss of $0.60, despite the positive award.
- 200 completed rounds at $0.5 create $100 of action. At an unchanged assumed 95% RTP, expected awards are $95 and expected loss is $5. This is an exercise, not a play target or a guaranteed result.

## Same RTP, different outcomes

Each invented model costs one unit and draws independently from 100 equally likely labels:

| Model | Full total-return distribution | RTP | Any award | Profit |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| A | 10 × 0; 85 × 1; 5 × 2 | 95% | 90% | 5% |
| B | 99 × 0; 1 × 95 | 95% | 1% | 1% |
| C | 10 × 0; 89 × 1; 1 × 6 | 95% | 90% | 1% |

A and C have the same any-award frequency but different variability. A volatility label alone cannot predict a session's length. In B, ten independent losses have about 90.44% probability; the next unchanged round still has a 1% award chance.

## State the independence assumption

Earlier losses do not change an unchanged independent-round model. Retained features, changed settings, jackpots and compensated machines require their own rules. Read eligibility and full costs instead of assuming the maximum setting is a better purchase.
